The aim of the UVic mental health project was to complement and enhance existing services to develop a comprehensive mental health team at the university which could be used as a model for other Canadian campuses.

The project included the implementation of Pit assessments, providing Managing Emotions psycho-education and ADHD workshops, and an extended team that included a Medical Office Assistant for psychiatry, a Mental Health Nurse, and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

Results of the project showed a reduction in psychiatry wait times, an increase care coordination and access to helpful mental health resources. Refer to the project poster for a summary of the project.
